  • How do I know what instrument to get my student?
There is a few options here. First and foremost, the instrument your get you student needs to be the one that they really want to play. If they get one they do not want, they will not practice, and therefore will not progress. Making class very frustrating. Second, it is a good idea for them to try several instruments they like to find the best fit. A music store can try students out on instruments, or you can wait until school starts and the teacher will be able to try your student out on any of the instruments.
  • Where do I get an instrument?
    1. From a family member - This is the easiest and cheapest option. Please take it to an instrument repair person first to make sure it is in good playing condition. 2. From a Music Store - Music Depot in Greeley, Boomer music in Fort Collins, or Music and Arts in Fort collins are all great places to rent great quality instruments. 3. From Heath MS. - This is an option for the families who are in financial hardship. There is limited supply so it is reserved for the families who truly need help getting in instrument. Just contact Mr. Wilkinson for help.
  • How much is it to be in Band or Orchestra?
This is a difficult question to answer because it depends on a lot of factors, like the type of instrument your student will be playing and where you got the instrument from. The class itself only has one fee outside of instrument rental, and that is a $10 concert polo that all students must wear at performances. It is our uniform, like a football jersey for the game. ***Although there is some expenses to band or orchestra, I do want to point out that if you are family in finacial hardship and speak with Mr. Wilkinson, your student will be able to participate in music fully at no charge.
